Let’s break the stigma and talk about Mental Health Awareness on Wednesday 10 October, World Mental Health Day

Next Wednesday 10th October is World Mental Health Day, and in honour of this day, the School of Engineering and Digital Arts is delighted to host a free lecture on Mental Health Awareness from 1 – 2 pm in Jennison Lecture Theatre, for students and staff. We’ll also be displaying resources and raising money for the Mental Health Foundation where a collection box will be available, so bring some loose change if you possibly can.

Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year, but next Wednesday, is a great day to show your support for better mental health and start looking after your own wellbeing. Starting University can leave some students feeling anxious and isolated and once in employment, the workplace can also trigger mental ill-health issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression.

With mental health problems affecting around one in four of us in any given year, why not come along to our session and learn about:
– Mental health and wellbeing
– How positive wellbeing enhances productivity and performance
– Top tops for encouraging positive mental health
– Signposting to resources for further reading and action

Let’s break the stigma surrounding mental health and talk about it instead. Please book via Eventbrite or simply turn up.
