Congratulations to Ilarna Nche, Multimedia Technology and Design student, winner of the ‘Alexa Sills Challenge: Kids’ for ‘Best Skill by University Students’

Congratulations to Ilarna Nche, third year Multimedia Technology and Design student from the School of Engineering and Digital Arts who took part in an international competition (which received thousands of submissions from 30 countries) organised by the Amazon Alexa team entitled ‘Alexa Skills Challenge: Kids’ which concerned the development of novel apps for kids that functions with the Alexa voice-enabled digital assistant.

We are delighted to announce that Ilarna won the award of ‘Best Skill by University Students’ ($15,000), the second highest prize in their list of awards. The logo for the app was designed by Digital Arts student, Leanne Hearnden, also from the School of Engineering and Digital Arts.
