Professor Steven Gao presents research at UK-China Science and Innovation Forum 2017

Professor Steven Gao from the School of Engineering and Digital Arts was invited to present his research work at the UK-China Science and Innovation Forum, which took place at the Royal Society, London, on December 6th, 2017. This event was organized jointly by Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, UK, and Department of Science and Technology, China. Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation, Jo Johnson, His Royal Highness The Duke of York and China’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mrs Liu Yandong, and many other senior government officials also attended the event.

The purpose of the event was to showcase and highlight some important innovations in tackling global challenges. Approximately ten projects were showcased and Professor Steven Gao presented smart antennas research work from the University of Kent and his exhibition stand was visited by China’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mrs Liu Yandong. Other projects were presented by leading scientists from Imperial College London, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford in various areas such as robotics, climate risk, satellite technology, antimicrobial resistance, etc.
