Congratulations to Pruet Putjorn, PhD student in Digital Arts in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts who received the winning prize in the Arts category (including Architecture, Design and Music) in Educational Awards for Excellence 2017, provided by the Anglo-Thai Society. The aim of the Awards is to recognise the exceptional academic achievements of Thai post-graduate scholars in the UK and are strongly supported by the Royal Thai Embassy. The awards will be presented at a reception held on Friday 17th November at the Oriental Club, London.
Pruet is a student in the Intelligent Interactions research group under the supervision of Dr Jim Ang, Senior Lecturer in Multimedia/Digital Systems and Dr Farzin Deravi, Professor of Information Engineering and Head of School. His work presents a three-year study where a ubiquitous sensor based learning platform was designed, developed and tested to support science learning among primary school students in underprivileged Northern Thailand, recognising the importance of the research to the Thai nation.
Pruet has recently passed his PhD Viva and will soon be returning to his academic position at the School of Information Technology, Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai, Thailand. We wish him every success in the future.
