Degree and Prize Giving Day for EDA Students – July 2017

Canterbury Cathedral was the magnificent setting for students from the School of Engineering and Digital Arts to receive their degrees on Tuesday 11th July. This was preceded by a Reception and Prize Giving in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts, where families, friends and staff celebrated their success.

Prizes were awarded as follows:

The Neon Adventures Prize was awarded by Mr Ashley St-Pier, Developer, Neon Adventures, to Christopher Chowen for the Most Innovative Use of Cutting Edge Technologies in the Field of Digital Media.

The Faculty of Sciences Rotary Prizes were awarded by Professor J Wang, Head of School, to William Wycherley (in absentia) and Marc Allen for Distinguished Performance in Stage 3 Examinations.

The Faculty of Sciences Dean’s Prize was awarded by Professor J Wang, Head of School to Oliver Krieger (in absentia) for Outstanding Performance in the Examinations.

The BAE Systems Prize was awarded by Mr Peri Mehmet, BAE Systems Campus Manager to Nicholas Parks Young for Most Outstanding Project by a Third Year CSE Student.

The BAE Systems Prize : Inspiring the Participation of Women in Engineering was awarded by Mr Peri Mehmet, BAE Systems Campus Manager to Harshini Utchanah

The BAE Systems Prize : Inspiring the Participation of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities in Engineering was awarded by Mr Peri Mehment, BAE Systems Campus Manager to Muhammad Basith

The Megger Instruments Ltd Prize was awarded by Hayley Kennett, Human Resources Manager, Megger Instruments, to Thomas Taylor for the Most Outstanding Instrumentation Project.

The Speech Link Multimedia Prize was awarded by Susan McMackin, Speech and Language Therapist, Speech Link, to Samantha Body, Roan Caulfield (in absentia), Sophia Ppali and Rhianna Taylor for the Best Final Year Project with a Therapeutic Application.

The Teach First Prize was awarded by Professor J Wang, Head of School, to Torran Caufield for Distinguished Performance in the Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 Examinations.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Chapter Final Year Prize was awarded by Professor J Wang, Head of School, to Benjamin Beeston for best final year undergraduate project in the telecommunications area

The Institution of Engineering and Technology Prize was awarded by Professor J Wang, Head of School to James Ingram for Distinction by a Final Year Student on an IET Accredited Course.
