Research Seminar – ‘Performance Studies of UHF RFID over Low-Cost Multimode Fibre Links’- 9th December at 11 am in KS16

The next Research Seminar in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts is entitled ‘Performance Studies of UHF RFID over Low-Cost Multimode Fibre Links’ and will be delivered by Dr Luis C Vieira, Federal University of Technology, Brazil. It will take place on Friday 9th December from 11.00 – 12.00 pm in Keynes Seminar Room 16 (KS16). All members of staff are welcome.

The Seminar will provide an overview of passive UHF RFID and Radio over Multimode Fibre systems and show experimental results considering the system performance.

Luis C. Vieira received his B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Brazil, in 1992, his MSc. degree in biomedical engineering from Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica do Paraná, Brazil, in 2003, and his PhD degree in electronic engineering from the University of Kent, UK, in 2013. Since 1998, he has been at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil, where he is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics. His current research topics include optical-wireless converged access networks, modelling and linearization of radio over fibre systems, and optical OFDM systems.

All members of staff are welcome to attend. The Seminar will be chaired by Professor Nathan Gomes.
