Engineering a Winning Workforce by Creating an Inclusive Engineering Industry – 16 November at 6 pm in JLT

Inclusion is the key to attracting and retaining staff, driving down supply-chain costs and delivering a service through a culture which aligns with client values. The engineering industry is lagging behind other sectors in the competition for talent.

Dr Mark McBridge-Wright, co-founder of InterEngineering, an organisation which connects, informs and empowers LGBT engineers and supporters will deliver a free evening lecture entitled ‘Engineering a Winning Workforce by Creating an Inclusive Engineering Industry’ on Wednesday 16th November from 6- 7 pm in Jennison Lecture Theatre. Light refreshments will be served after the lecture and there will be an opportunity for networking.

Mark is a chartered safety engineer working in engineering contracting. He was requested by the House of Commons to prepare a report for the UK Government on tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in the engineering sector which was published in November 2015. He is now working with the Government on implementation of the recommended measures. He was ranked number 2 in the 2015 Financial Times Future LGBT Leaders, and won the coveted “Corporate Rising Star” at the 2016 British LGBT Awards for his work in diversity and inclusion.

The lecture will be followed by light refreshments in EDA’s social area and the opportunity for networking.
