Research Seminar – ‘Biomedical Engineering’ – 11th April at 2 pm in JLT

On Monday 11th April at 2 pm in Jennison Lecture Theatre, Professor Sergio Francisco Pichorim from UTFPR (Federal Technological University of Parana) will present information on UTFPR (the first university of ‘Technology’ in Brazil) and current research in Biomedical Engineering.

Professor Pichorim will present recent developments in the areas of Biomedical Instrumentation, Sensors and Biotelemetry and will also provide a short description about the project/staff exchange between UTFPR and the University of Kent that is currently being funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering as a Newton Collaborative Research Project.

Sergio Pichorim is a Professor at UTFPR (Federal Technological University of Parana) where he has supervised a number of doctoral and MSc research students. He specialises in electronics, bioengineering, biopotential, and operational amplifiers. He holds two patents. Curenntly, Professor Pichorim is a Visiting Professor at the University of Kent in an exchange funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, Newton Collaborative Research Project scheme.
