IEEE Student Branch Congress, University of Kent, 9-11 October 2015

The School of Engineering and Digital Arts is pleased to announce that the University of Kent’s IEEE Student Branch has been chosen to host this year’s annual congress.

The IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional association, where membership is composed of engineers, scientists, and allied professionals where the core purpose is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. An IEEE Student Branch gives students the opportunity to meet and learn from fellow students, as well as faculty members and professionals in the field. It offers numerous educational, technical, and professional advantages, through special projects, activities, meetings, tours and field trips. Student Branches are established at over 900 universities and colleges throughout the world.

This year’s congress is scheduled to be held on 9th to 11th October 2015 at the University of Kent in Canterbury. The event is aimed at students, new graduates and young professionals within the United Kingdom and Ireland Region. The intention is to bring together science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students and professionals.

The focus of the congress is to bridge the gap between academia and industry, and accordingly, the IEEE Student Branch at the University of Kent seeks to recruit speakers from industry and raise sponsorship for the event.

If you are interested in learning more about the event, can provide sponsorship or would be interested in delivering a session, please contact IEEE Student Branch Chair, Ryan Husbands on rh463@kent.ac.uk
