Research Seminar – Information-Theoretic Waveform Design for MIMO Radar – 10 June 2015

The next EDA Research Seminar entitled ‘Information-Theoretic Waveform Design for MIMO Radar’ will be delivered by Professor Marco Lops from the University of Cassino, Italy and takes place on Wednesday 10 June from 4 – 5 pm in Jennison Lecture Theatre. The talk will introduce a number of information-theoretic figures of merit, showing that diversity maximization is not always the best transmit strategy nd will give some hints on the general trade-offs to account for when determining a transmit policy.

Marco Lops was born and educated in Naples, where he obtained his laurea and his PhD degree from ‘Federico II’ University. He joined the Department of Electrival Engineering in the same institution, while, in 2000, he joined the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering at University of Cassino. He thought in several universities, including University of Minnesota, Columbia University and University of Toulouse. His research interests ar ein statistical signal processing, detection and estimation, with emphasis on radar and communications.

All members of academic, technical and administrative staff are welcome to the seminar. RAs and postgraduates (PhD candidates and MSc students) are particularly encouraged to attend the event. For any further enquiries, please contact Professor Steven Gao (S.Gao@kent.ac.uk) who will also chair the seminar.
