Research Seminar – Clipping and Predistortion of OFDM Signals for Distortion Compensation of Radio over Fibre Systems – 5 June 2015

The next EDA Research Seminar entitled “Clipping and Predistortion of OFDM Signals for Distortion Compensation of Radio over Fibre Systems’ will be delivered by Dr Luis C. Vieira of Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil and will take place from 2 – 3 pm in JLT (Jennison Lecture Theatre) on Friday 5th June 2015.

Luis C. Vieira received his B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Brazil, in 1992, his M.Sc. degree in biomedical engineering from Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica do Paraná, Brazil, in 2003, and his PhD degree in electronic engineering from the University of Kent, UK, in 2013. From 1994 to 1998, he held engineer positions in two telecommunications companies in Brazil (Telesc and Telepar). Since 1998, he has been at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil, where he s now a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electronics. Since early 2014, he has also been an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Kent, UK. His current research topics include optical communications, optical-wireless converged access networks, modelling and linearization (digital predistortion) of radio over fibre systems, and OFDM systems.

All members of academic, technical and administrative staff are welcome to the seminar. RAs and postgraduates (PhD candidates and MSc students) are particularly encouraged to attend the event. Dr Nathan Gomes will chair the Seminar and any further enquiries should be addressed to him. (N.J.Gomes@kent.ac.uk)
