Congratulations to Ania Bobrowicz from the School of Engineering and Digital Arts who was awarded £1,500 following the first Eastern ARC interdisciplinary sandpit event. The funding will be used to develop a project entitled ‘Digital Society and Wellbeing: Mediated Intimacy and Older People’ which is an interdisciplinary project involving researchers from the University of East Anglia, the University of Essex, and three Schools from Kent: Computing, EDA and SSPSSR. The project will examine what motivates older people to seek intimacy online, what types of intimacy older people seek online and what is the role of technology in either encouraging or discouraging intimacy online.
