University of Kent receives the globe in preparation for ICC 2015

The ‘globe’ that represents the IEEE Communications Society’s (Comsoc) flagship conference was passed from Globecom 2014, Austin, Texas to ICC 2015 London at the Globecom banquet last night. The University of Kent’s Nathan Gomes, ICC 2015 Technical Program Chair, received the globe on behalf of the ICC 2015 Executive Committee, from Ted Rappaport, Globecom’s Program Executive and Sergio Benedetto, Comsoc President. This represents the key role that Kent has in the committee, on which Jiangzhou Wang, is the Executive Chair. In his address to the banquet, Nathan promised an exciting conference in London, as record numbers of paper, workshop and tutorial submissions had been received – so exceptionally high participation was anticipated. He was joined on stage for the presentation of the globe by other members of the ICC 2015 London Executive Committee including, Huiling Zhu from Kent, the conference operations chair.
