Organised by Professor Cyril Isenberg, Honorary Lecture in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts and sponsored by the Institute of Physics, two Christmas Science Lectures recently took place at the Gulbenkian, University of Kent ; “Confounding Colour – What is it and how do we measure it?” by Dr Andrew Hanson, The National Physical Laboratory and “Looking Through Glass” by Professor Bob Newport of the University of Kent. The lectures inspired young people to think about how colour influences consumer choices and described the atomic structure of glass, one of the oldest technologies known to mankind.
