Degree and prize giving day for postgraduate students

Congratulations to all our MSc and PhD students who graduated in Canterbury Cathedral on Friday, 21st November. This was followed by a Reception and Prize Giving in the School where families, friends and staff celebrated their success. Prizes were awarded as follows:-

The Safran Morpho UK Ltd Prize was awarded by Professor Sarah Spurgeon, Head of School, to Mr Anmut Yigsaw Mossie (in absentia), and collected by Miss Iulia Motoc upon for Anmut’s behalf, for Excellence in Biometrics on the Information, Security and Biometrics MSc.

The Rohde & Schwarz Project Prize was awarded by Mr. Phil McCluskey of Rohde & Schwarz to Mr Eik Tobias Lindholm for his project in the wireless field on the Broadband and Mobile Communication Networks MSc.

The IEEE UK&RI Telecommunications Prize was awarded by Professor Sarah Spurgeon, Head of School, to Mr Lewis Tannoh who was the best MSc student in the telecommunications field on the Broadband and Mobile Communication Networks MSc.

The Procon Engineering Project Prize was awarded by Mr Peter Lee, Senior Lecturer in Electronic Engineering, to Mr Rami Costin Hanganu, for the best project on the Embedded Systems and Instrumentation MSc.

The BAE Systems Prize was awarded by Mr Nick Martin of BAE Systems to Mr Dennis Klaesner (MSc Engineering with Finance) for best overall MSc Engineering Project.

The Miller Hare Prize was awarded by Mr Max Lenton of Miller Hare, jointly to Mr Ruben Chitu and Mr Joseph Ling Chuan Sheng for Outstanding Visualisations on the Architectural Visualisation MA.

The Foundry Prize was awarded by Mr David Byers Brown, Senior Lecturer, to Miss Marjolein Verheij for Excellence in Compositing on the Digital Visual Effects MSc.

Certificates and gift vouchers were also awarded to the following students from the School who helped with the ice breaker event in Welcome Week and Open Days earlier in the year: Mark Esdale, Sara Choudhrey, Ben Zeng, Onyedika Achara, Matthew Prentice, Moyra Chikomo, Janet Rodriguez, Alex Cole and Calvin Ng.
