Plant theft research features on BBC Radio 4

Joint research by Dr Dave Roberts from the School of Anthropology and Conservation and Dr John Batchelor from the School of Engineering and Digital Arts recently featured on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Costing the Earth’ programme.

The programme, looked at the extent botanic gardens are protecting their plants from the theft of rare flowers and can be listened to again at this link:

The research explores methods to help detect plant crimes and improve conviction rates – such as an alarm system.
