Digital Photography expertise aids student-led Environmental Campaign

The Environment Campaign are a student-led volunteer society who aim to improve the environment for students and staff, residents and wildlife across the campus, Canterbury and Kent region. The group organizes a mixture of events every week, from wildlife photography walks to volunteer days to environmental talks.

On Sunday 1st June, Ayman El-Kharrat from the School of Engineering and Digital Arts joined members of the Campaign in order to provide them with a one day intensive photographic course, in order that members of the group would be encouraged to enter Kent Wildlife Trust’s photographer of the year competition.

The group enjoyed a wildlife walk through Blean Woods (Tyler Hill and the Sarre Penn Valley), where members learned how to take photos of the wildlife they encountered. For a route of the walk enjoyed, click here

Speaking after the event, one of the participants commented “Thank you again for your help on yesterday’s walk. The photo’s I took are the best I’ve ever taken”
