Congratulations to Steven on European Commission FP7 Space Research Award

Congratulations to Professor Steven Gao (Professor of RF and Microwave Engineering, School of Engineering and Digital Arts) who has just been awarded 163, 321 Euros from the European Commission FP7 Space programme, for a project entitled ‘Digital beamforming space-borne synthetic aperture radars’ (DIFFERENT).

The project aims to develop the first digital beamforming space-borne synthetic aperture radar with multiple small satellites in low earth orbits. During the past 12 months, Steve has successfully secured four research grants from external sources (2 from EC FP7 Space Programme, 1 from FP7 ICT Programme and 1 from the Royal Academy of Engineering), totalling approximately 0.75m million Euros.
