First chip design in 15 years for EDA

Congratulations to Gurtac Yemiscioglu, PhD student in the Instrumentation, Control and Embedded Systems Group who has completed the first chip design for fabrication in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts for many years. The chip design, called “16-bit Clocked Adiabatic Logic Logarithmic Signal Processor” has now been submitted for fabrication, with Peter Lee, Senior Lecturer in Electronic Engineering commenting: “This is going to be the first chip made in the School after 15 years, and we are enormously proud to share the news with everyone”. The chip design uses Adiabatic Logic to implement a digital logarithmic signal processor. The circuit will be used to asssess the energy efficiency of adiabatic techniques when combined with basic logarithmic processing elements.
