The next EDA Research Seminar will be given by Professor Paul Puleston, Department of Electrical Engineering, National University of La Plata, Argentina and Marie Curie IIF Fellow at IRI, CSIC-UPC, Spain, at 3.00 pm in Room RDC-G23 in the Research Development Centre on 20th February.
Professor Puleston will present a general overview to the main research directions of two groups – LEICI (National University of La Plata, Argentina) and IRI (CSIC-Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain) – where particular emphasis will be placed on the Fuel Cell Laboratory experimental facilities of the latter. The presentation will then focus on the specific area of control of alternative energy systems. In particular, different sliding mode control techniques (including first and second order methods) will be applied to wind turbines, hydrogen/fuel-cell based generation systems, hybrid generation systems and hybrid vehicles.
