EDA Researcher wins Prestigious US Scholarship

Dr. Yiqing Liang, a researcher in the School of Engineering and Digital Arts (EDA), has won a prestigious scholarship in the United States. She has been awarded a $25,000 scholarship to attend the 2012 Graduate Studies Programme at Singularity University, California.
The 10-week interdisciplinary programme, from 18 June – 24 August 2012, brings together entrepreneurial leaders and top graduate and postgraduate students from around the globe to explore technological solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
Yiqing, who has a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the School, was awarded the scholarship for her ideas on new products or services to improve the lives of 10 million Chinese citizens within five years. During the programme, she hopes to develop new projects in healthcare and biometric systems.
