EDA celebrates the Year of the Dragon 2012

EDA staff and students continued the tradition of celebrating the Chinese New Year with food and music in the Jennison Building on the evening of Friday, 27th January.
2012 is the year of the Dragon and is the only sign in the Chinese Zodiac that is legendary. In ancient times it was a symbol reserved for the Chinese emperor and it is considered to be an extremely auspicious sign.
After a buffet of Chinese food, staff and students provided musical entertainment, including (right) a song by Dr. Xinggang Yan accompanied by Professor Yong Yan on keyboard, Professor Jay Wang on bamboo flute and Weining Zhang, an undergraduate student from the Kent Business School, on erhu, the Chinese fiddle.
The evening was rounded off with Chinese games.
