You can volunteering as a Goals Ambassador as part of an exciting project based around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Not only will the role equip you with new skills and the satisfaction of knowing you are making a positive impact on the environment, but you will also be entitled to 30 employability points PLUS further points for any activities and events you organise.<\/p>\n
What are the Sustainable Development Goals?<\/strong><\/p>\n 17 goals that outline the vision for a sustainable world by 2030.\u00a0The goals seek to finish the job that was started by the Millennium Goals which ran from 2000 to 2015 and brought 850,000,000 people out of extreme poverty and yet saw carbon emissions increase by 9,850,000 kilotons.<\/p>\n Objectives of the role:<\/strong><\/p>\n – Promote the SDGs to fellow students and staff In this role you will:<\/strong><\/p>\n – Attend the relevant training and induction session Successful applicant will have (desirable):<\/strong><\/p>\n – An interest in environmental issues Does this sound like you?<\/b><\/p>\n
\n– Encourage, motivate and support the Staff Sustainability Champions network
\n– Increase the ease of reporting on sustainability achievements within the University
\n– Increase the individual support to Sustainability Champions, by providing creative input, leading where necessary and taking on specific tasks
\n– Increase student\/staff collaboration
\n– Equip students with useful skills for future employability<\/p>\n
\n– Keep in regular contact with Sustainability Champions
\n– Support them in their sustainability actions
\n– Communicate with other student Goals Ambassadors to support each other
\n– Promote the goals through creative campaigning and marketing<\/p>\n
