Here are Paige’s thoughts:

I joined Medway Council’s Public Health Intelligence team as a Public Health Researcher for 3 months over summer. Becoming a part of their amazing team has given me skills that I will use throughout life and definitely in the next two years of university.

The team were so accommodating, especially Mark and Natalie who valued what I wanted to get out of the internship. My main project was summarising key facts from a large government document called the JSNA (Joint Strategic Needs Assessment), which will be used to produce public infographics. I also got the opportunity to write reports, set up and attend meetings, go to my first ever conference and even produce a literature review for the director of public health.

I really enjoyed this internship and definitely felt like I became part of the team, I learnt so much and it’s definitely made me consider working in public health for the future.

Paige Policelli

In 2018, Medway Council offered an internship, via the EP Scheme, to Paige Policelli to work within the Public Health team.
