The EP team recently caught-up with Megan Deefholts (School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research) and Samantha Secomb, Director of Pentins Financial Planners, where thanks to co-funding, provided by Santander Universities, Megan has been completing a design and marketing internship.
Megan explained she applied for the internship due to its focus on social media and design, and since starting she has been principally tasked with the rebranding of Women’s Wealth. She has been working on logo designs, fonts and colour, allowing full responsibility of the design aspect. Beyond this, Megan has created branding guidelines, researched and shortlisted a new web designer, created content for social media channels and worked to set up the branding for the new Zoom lab. Here, Megan worked innovatively to ensure various brandings are displayed and was responsible for costing, artwork and working with the provider.
Moving forward, Megan is focusing on creating video content for the business, where she will be working with creative freedom to create a range of content.
Samantha Secomb commented:
“We would not have had someone with Megan’s creative media skills and knowledge without this funding. Through harnessing Megan’s energy and insight into technology, she has had a huge influence on the branding and this has been a major plus point. The results of the campaign would have been very different without Megan.”
Megan also added on how much she has enjoyed the varied nature of the internship, where she has been tasked with an array of responsibilities:
“I have learnt so much from this internship, whilst it has also been fun and a fantastic opportunity to work with some great people.”
Thanks must be given to Santander Universities for co-funding this opportunity.
