Martina Taddei, MSc International Business and Management student, has been completing a 12-week internship in international sales with AbBaltis this summer, so the EP team took the opportunity to catch up with her on how she has been getting on.
AbBaltis has been offering internships on the EP scheme for several years now – in fact, interns from the past two years now work as permanent staff members for them! This includes Gabriela Gonzalez Otero, who has been working as a Business Executive for AbBaltis for the past year after completing her internship, and who we managed to catch up with as well whilst we were visiting. AbBaltis serve the In Vitro Diagnostics and Biotech markets with clients across the world, and since being awarded with the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade in 2015, have been focussed on expanding their international presence.
Martina has thoroughly enjoyed entering her internship at this time of global growth for the business, and has certainly been able to put her knowledge on international business to excellent use! She has spent most of her time working in sales and marketing, and has been given the opportunity to really develop her skills in this area. In fact, she has nothing but praise for AbBaltis, commenting that they offer a ‘very dynamic and flexible working environment with a focus on making a positive impact on society. They are incredible at developing the skills of their team, and you truly feel valued as a person’.
Martina has been provided with plenty of opportunity to develop her knowledge in all areas of the business, including learning a lot about the bio psychology field, allowing her to realise that this is the area in which she sees herself working in her future career.
Martina started engaging with EP before even starting her studies at Kent, and was clear in her encouragement to other students:
‘I would 100% recommend joining EP. Getting involved shows that you are a dedicated and motivated student taking the extra mile whilst doing your studies, and then you get repaid for all of your efforts!’
This opportunity with AbBaltis is always very popular every year, and it is certainly clear to see why when they are so dedicated to people development and to supporting University of Kent students and graduates alike with opportunities to join their workforce! Be sure you earn the 200 points needed to apply for an internship with them in 2024!
