Final year International Business student Daniela Hardikerova has been completing an SEO internship at the small sales business Berger Tools Ltd this summer, and EP took the opportunity to catch up with her and the team to see what she has been up to.
Berger Tools Ltd are a small business based in North Kent, and are the UK’s most experienced supplier of bespoke tool components, working with both national and international clients. It is clear stepping into their offices that you are entering a warm and welcoming working environment, which was very much confirmed by Daniela. From the outset she had high hopes for the internship, feeling like she could actually bring something of worth to the company, and these high hopes were certainly fulfilled!
Daniela’s main area of focus during her placement has been on updating webpages and SEO work, along with setting up Google Analytics, completing research and recommending ways in which the company can better market their products. She has really enjoyed the amount of independence and flexibility that she has been given in her time there, whilst also feeling like she has accomplished a lot for the company, is listened to and valued by staff.
Sam Goldsmith, who works in Accounts and Business Administration, has been working most closely with Daniela at the company. Sam and the whole team have been really impressed with Daniela and the work that she has done in her time with them:
‘Daniela has been very dedicated in making sure that she is doing something of use to the team in everything that she does, bringing fresh perspectives that will have a real long term benefit to the future development of the company.’
Daniela strongly recommends getting involved in EP throughout your time as a student at Kent:
‘I would recommend all students take part in the EP scheme as much as possible. It is a great confidence booster to be able to apply your knowledge in a real world setting and you also develop invaluable skills for future placements/job opportunities. I would also suggest people apply to a variety of opportunities as it’s a great way to get a taste for what certain roles entail.’
Interested in completing a varied and impactful role at a Kent-based SME? Well, there are plenty of internships like this on offer each year, so we recommend taking Daniela’s advice and making sure you earn enough points this academic year!
