Startup Grind

A new, student-led community organisation on campus in partnership with Google for Startups.

Founded in Silicon Valley, Startup Grind is the largest independent startup community which actively seeks to educate, inspire and connect more than 2,000,000 entrepreneurs in over 600 chapters. Supporting startup ventures in more than 125 countries, the organisation run events, use media, and partnerships with organisations like Google for Startups in order to promote and nurture startups. The essential pillars of their global community are monthly events which feature outstanding local founders, innovators, educators and investors who come together to share their stories with a view to educate and inspire others.

Two students are responsible for bringing this exciting scheme to The University of Kent, they are – Teniola Etti and Rajsewek Singh Babra – “Both Raj and I becoming Chapter Directors is an amazing achievement for us as entrepreneurs and students at the University of Kent”. Stated Teniola, furthermore – “As we are launching a new community organisation on campus we are starting with bringing in two exciting and successful startup founders who are willing to have a conversation about their journey through trial and tribulation as entrepreneurs, to founding award winning companies”. As such, in order to formally introduce Startup Grind, Teniola and Raj have organised a launch event – A Fireside Chat with FroHub and Judge Law, Thursday 14th November, 18:00 – 20:00, Sibson Lecture Hall 3.
