Over the summer, Daniel Rozenberg (Kent Law School) gained the chance to undertake a mini pupillage with Stour Chambers as his EP reward. The EP team recently caught up with Daniel to find out more!
During his reward, Daniel gained the chance to shadow three barristers, both in and out of court, following their cases and meeting with their respective clients. This not only provided a clearer picture of the barrister’s daily routing, particularly in relation to Family, Civil and Commercial law, but also the opportunity to discuss procedure, strategy and legal theory.
As a result, Daniel visited magistrates courts all over Kent (Canterbury, Medway and Maidstone) and gained ‘a rounder picture of the law and its function in practice.’ Daniel also ‘enjoyed comparing advocacy styles and techniques, especially the out of court hallway negotiations’.
Overall, Daniel commented:
“I would highly encourage any student to get involved with the scheme! The barristers at Stour Chambers are gifted advocates and warm welcoming people with engaging conversations only a curious question away.”
If you are reading this and would like to gain a mini pupillage for summer 2020, Stour Chambers are offering these as EP rewards once again!
