The EP team recently caught up with Jordan Montford Robinson (School of Computing) who has been undertaking his EP reward (12-week internship) with SARD, an innovative business who offer software products in the health sector.
Jordan explained he applied for this internship to gain essential experience in software development, in addition to the general professional environment. As a result, Jordan has gained the chance to undertake critical work, building Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and this will lead onto a system e-rostering an Artificial Intelligence System.
Beyond gaining this advanced technical knowledge, Jordan has been undertaking a range of tasks, particularly in relation to customer support.
Reflecting upon his 12-weeks, Jordan commented:
“I have gained a mixture of technical and customer service skills and I have had real responsibility. I really have enjoyed the working environment, which has been incredibly fun! Furthermore, I have learnt so much during the internship, not only technical knowledge but also philosophies such as Test Driven Development and Agile Development.”
Jordan now feels really optimistic about his future career in software development and furthermore, due to his performance over the last 12-weeks, he has been offered part-time employment with SARD!

“Jordan has been a great addition to the team. He has done some great technical work and has stepped up when needed. The work he has done has been essential and will allow us to move forward in relation to AI capability”.
