The Community Driving School

The Community Driving School CIC changes lives by providing back to work training and driving courses to make people more employable.

About

Formed in 2016, the Community Driving School (CDS) allows individuals who are either on a low wage, unemployed, a young carer and/or student, to gain access to 50 hours of bespoke driver training. This is in return for 50 hours of community based work experience supported by their partners.

The CDS are passionate about helping people who want to improve their situation – learning to drive can open doors to employment opportunities, which previously may have been out of reach.

Rewards 2019-20

The CDS are providing two work experience opportunities where students will be tasked with creating training materials to assist individuals with Asperger’s and autism to pass their theory tests. This may involve creating videos and digital media.

The CDS are also providing one EP student with 10-hours of driving lessons and they will be sponsoring a highest points prize during the 2020 EP Rewards Evening.
