Shepherd Neame have been sponsoring the Employability Points Scheme for a number of years, offering internships, work experience placements and company experiences in videography, digital marketing, scientific processes and much more.
For 2018-19, the EP team caught up with Ashish Singh (School of Computing), who has been undertaking an internship in the IT Department.
Reflecting on his internship, Ashish commented that prior to the placement, he had ‘no corporate experience and the internship has been a great opportunity to expose myself…this internship covered areas I was most familiar with and has been an opportunity to see if it is the right career path.’
During his internship, Ashish has been undertaking a Service Desk role, providing guidance to users, investigating faults and building PCs and laptops.
Ashish has managed to have a real positive impact upon both the IT team and the wider business; one particular colleague was so happy with Ashish’s work, she bought him a thank you card!
Ashish commented:
“I was looking for a commercial experience and this has been met and I will have the opportunity to learn more from the Infrastructure Team. I can’t thank the Shepherd Neame team enough for the valuable experience they have offered me.”
