Senate to have a majority of elected members

At the Senate meeting in March, elected members pushed for a greater representation of elected academic staff from Autumn, when the new Divisions necessitate a change to the make-up of the membership.
From Autumn, a majority of Senate (66%) will be made up of 5 elected student representatives and 31 elected academic members representing the seven divisions (4 each for a total of 28) and 3 floating members. This represents a 57% majority of elected academic members.
(Update: since then, the number of divisions has been reduced to six following the decision to merge Divisions 1 and 2; this presumably means there will be 27 rather than 31 elected academic members.)
