“Right now, I am in Tokyo experiencing its possibilities for personal and professional growth. I’ll be studying here until around July next year. For me, this isn\u2019t just an academic pursuit; it\u2019s a dream come true. As a child, I was fascinated with Pok\u00e9mon and Japan really captivated me. The feeling of adventure in the game sparked a lifelong desire to explore the country. When I learnt that Kent offered a year abroad programme, I knew I had to take the leap!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There\u2019s so much to learn about here, too. The Japanese economy is probably the most fascinating as it stands today. Being on the ground, I can see the dynamics at play and the intricacies of Japan\u2019s economic landscape. I have insight that textbooks can\u2019t convey.<\/p>\n

Navigating a year abroad, however, comes with its challenges. Adjusting to Japan\u2019s rigorous academic demands was daunting. initially. The workload here is intense, with lots of independent study and problem-solving. But when I started to break tasks down and use weekends to recharge, things got a lot easier. Reaching out for help from classmates and professors worked really well, too.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Outside of the library, I am blown away by this vibrant city. The bustling atmosphere of Tokyo, including festivals, shrines, parks, museums and unique architecture, is incredible.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So far, my stand-out memory has to be a trip to Enoshima. It\u2019s full of colour and history. The buzzing streets and stunning beach are a feast for the eyes. Even the train station, designed to reflect the mythical Dragon Palace, set a magical tone for the visit. It truly was an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n

My time abroad continues to inspire me. Every area of economics has deep, unanswered questions and there is much more to learn in my degree and beyond.<\/p>\n

The University of Kent was instrumental in my journey to Japan. The dedicated International Office at Kent<\/strong><\/a> provided application guidance and tips for experiencing a new culture. They equipped me to thrive in a new environment.”<\/p>\n

“My year in Japan isn\u2019t just about academic advancement. It’s also about personal growth, adaptability, and the thrill of global exploration. I know it will impact my life for years to come.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
