An Economics student is one of 20 students to be awarded a place on the University’s\u00a0European Summer School in Brussels.\u00a0Aanisah Bibi Zainab Bauluck, a second-year student, was selected from over 300 applicants.<\/p>\n
The European Summer School programme has been established as\u00a0part of the\u00a0University’s 50th anniversary celebrations, and builds on our\u00a0international reputation and specialist postgraduate centres in Brussels and Paris.\u00a0 The Summer Schools will enable both those working and studying to develop their knowledge of the politics of the European Union (EU) or study the revolutionary influences of French history and culture<\/p>\n
The Brussels Summer School is centred on the theme of \u2018Europe and the World\u2019, and within this context various sub-themes will be also covered, including\u00a0migration, the European Union\u2019s (EU) relationship with emerging powers such as China, and the EU\u2019s response to the global economic crisis.<\/p>\n
Over a period of two weeks, students will participate in a series of guest lectures, seminars and debates delivered by academics, policy-makers, diplomats and European civil servants. Students will also benefit from a careers workshop which gives an insight into a range of employment opportunities as well as the transferable skills which are attractive to potential employers. To mark the end of the Summer School in Brussels, there will be a formal dinner to congratulate students for successfully completing the programme.<\/p>\n
