{"id":454,"date":"2015-03-31T13:26:11","date_gmt":"2015-03-31T13:26:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/?p=454"},"modified":"2015-06-08T09:24:28","modified_gmt":"2015-06-08T08:24:28","slug":"lanre-kassim-wins-kent-union-teaching-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/2015\/03\/31\/lanre-kassim-wins-kent-union-teaching-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Lanre Kassim wins Kent Union Teaching Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/research\/students\/lanre-kassim.html\">Lanre Kassim<\/a>, an Economics PhD student,\u00a0has\u00a0won a\u00a0Kent Union Teaching Award.\u00a0The\u00a0annual awards were created, and are run by students to recognise and\u00a0reward\u00a0staff for their\u00a0commitment\u00a0to the delivery of excellent teaching.<\/p>\n<p>Many congratulations to Lanre, who was presented with the\u00a0award for &#8216;Postgraduates who teach&#8217; at a ceremony yesterday evening\u00a0(30 March 2015). Lanre teaches on the first year module, &#8216;Introduction to Economics&#8217;. Lanre commented, &#8220;I would like to thank the School of Economics for the opportunity to teach; and also thank <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/staff\/profiles\/wei-jiang.html\">Wei Jiang<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/staff\/profiles\/john-peirson.html\">John Peirson<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/staff\/profiles\/manuel-toledo.html\">Manuel Toledo<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/staff\/profiles\/alan-carruth.html\">Alan Carruth <\/a>for the privilege of being an assistant to them.
