Prof. Matsuyama\u2019s work has been very influential in the areas of growth and structural transformation, trade, credit cycles, and macroeconomic dynamics. On June 23rd he will be presenting \u201cA technology gap model of premature deindustrialization\u201d (with Ippei Fujiwara). The paper will address the observation that emerging economies start deindustrialising at lower levels of development than developed economies.
