The School of Economics is pleased to offer an online Taster Event for anyone considering undergraduate study in Economics on Tuesday 1 December 2020, 14.00-16.00.<\/p>\n
The programme will include topical presentations from lecturing staff and the President of our Economics Society, plus there will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion between and after the presentations.<\/p>\n

\nExplore the inter-generational inequalities facing young people, how they have been exacerbated by this crisis, and why Economics will be vital in solving them.<\/p>\n

\nAmanda will demonstrate how economics is vital to our understanding of Covid and how we can evaluate polices that might mitigate its spread and effect. She will also argue that the question of whether we should prioritise health or GDP is misplaced, a more productive debate is around how fast we try to resolve the problem and importantly who should bear the cost.<\/p>\n
