{"id":1803,"date":"2019-11-25T11:51:42","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T11:51:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/?p=1803"},"modified":"2020-02-11T18:03:37","modified_gmt":"2020-02-11T18:03:37","slug":"the-return-of-pub-quiz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/2019\/11\/25\/the-return-of-pub-quiz\/","title":{"rendered":"The Return of Pub Quiz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">We had a really bustling evening with 15 teams of staff and students taking part in our School of Economics pub quiz. <\/p>\n<p>We had a fantastic turnout at this year&#8217;s School of Economics Pub Quiz. 15 teams of staff and students took part, in a bespoke quiz created by Professor Iain Fraser.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially we were tested on our general knowledge but, we of course, there were some economics questions thrown in there too,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>Q.\u00a0 What is the latest edition of the text book \u201cEconomic Development\u201d by Professor Tony Thirlwall?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>A. Tenth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>some niche indie music questions, and some inventive team names (&#8216;This is not a drill, there is a fire, please evacuate&#8217;, &#8216;John Peirson Appreciation Society&#8217; and &#8216;I thought this was speed dating&#8217; being favourites). Also Luke Buchanan-Hodgman&#8217;s\u00a0 disappointment at his team&#8217;s placement has become an annual feature.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;John&#8217;s Jovial Jesters&#8217; , made up of Gavin, James, Aaryaman, Muhammad and Jennifer in Stage 3, romped to victory with 44 points, but generally much fun was had by all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We had a really bustling evening with 15 teams of staff and students taking part in our School of Economics pub quiz.
