{"id":1408,"date":"2018-09-21T16:41:39","date_gmt":"2018-09-21T15:41:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/?p=1408"},"modified":"2020-03-17T12:11:51","modified_gmt":"2020-03-17T12:11:51","slug":"degree-level-economics-apprenticeship-launched-following-civil-service-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/2018\/09\/21\/degree-level-economics-apprenticeship-launched-following-civil-service-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"Degree-level economics apprenticeship launched following civil service partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The School of Economics is\u00a0delighted to announce that we have won a tender to partner the Government Economic Service in the delivery of a flagship Higher Degree Apprenticeship entitled <em>Professional Economist<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The apprenticeship will create new routes to careers in the Civil Service for young people who would prefer to study for a degree whilst working at the heart of government.<\/p>\n<section class=\"content-body\">\n<div class=\"content-container\">\n<div class=\"content-main\">\n<p>The partnership between the University of Kent and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/civil-service-launch-pioneering-economics-degree-apprenticeship\">Government Economic Service <\/a>(GES) was signed on 20 September and will see Kent\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/economics\/\">School of Economics<\/a> delivering the new degree-level apprenticeships in conjunction with its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/apprenticeships\/about.html\">Centre for Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/ovc\/people\/karen_cox.html\">Professor Karen Cox<\/a>, University Vice-Chancellor and President, said: \u2018We are proud to have been selected to deliver the programme, working with colleagues across the Government Economic Service.
