Life after graduation

Next week is graduation day for our final year students. Canterbury cathedral will be packed with proud parents and graduands receiving their degrees. But then what?

Life after graduation can be pretty daunting for some, having been wrapped up in the bubble of education for the last 16 years. But for Economics students the future is pretty rosy with Economics graduate earning most after 5 years (http://econunikent.org/index.php/employability/285-economics-graduates-earn-most-after-five-years) and Kent Economics graduates being among the most employable in the UK (http://econunikent.org/index.php/employability/283-kent-economics-graduates-are-among-the-most-employable-in-the-uk).

Graduates should note that help is still available to them once they have left Kent. The Careers and Employability service will assist graduates for three years after Graduation and the School of Economics Employability Team, John Peirson and Katie Marshall are also on hand for any help that is required whether it is CV writing or reading through an application.

Graduates also might like to consider joining KEW-NET, the University’s e-mentoring platform and search for an alumni mentor, or become a mentor yourself! Or connect with the School and other alumni on LinkedIn, find us under Keynes Kent.

Congratulations to all of our graduates, keep in contact and good luck for the future!
