Industrial placements

City landscape with water inthe foregroundThe industrial placements programme enables students to spend a year in industry, including both manufacturing and the finance sector, as an integral part of their degree. Recently students have undertaken placements at the Bank of England, Government Economic Service, Deloitte, Ernst & Young and PwC. Students can transfer into this programme at any point during their first two years. The Year in Industry is taken between the second (Stage 2) and third years (Stage 3).

The School’s Director of Placements and Placement Co-ordinator work with Careers and Employability Service to assist students in identifying businesses and organisations offering placements and internships. Both the School and Careers Advisory Service provide a reference bank of prior students who have completed successful placements in industry while studying at Kent, and also provide support in writing winning CVs or applications and developing skills for assessment centres and interviews.
