Our drop in session will explain how it’s run, how businesses and organisations can benefit from joining in and how to get involved.

This programme is already helping the Government Economic Service, the Bank of England and a number of other high profile employers to both improve their talent pipeline and widen diversity within their workforce. Increasing diversity is a pressing issue because women and BME groups are all underrepresented in the profession of economics -this programme allows employers to do their bit and to ensure that their employees are highly effective and analytical in their work.

The School of Economics is in the second year of delivery of this programme and are really proud of the development that current apprentices have achieved and the level and quality of work they deliver for their employers. Current employers include many central government departments and regulatory bodies, the Bank of England, local government and commercial consultancy firms including Arup and Jacobs. In the coming year, the Health Foundation and NIESR are expected to send apprentices on this programme.

The drop-in session is designed to introduce potential employers to the apprenticeship programme and will include information on how the apprenticeship is run and how you and your organisation can benefit from getting involved.

Economics Professor Alastair Bailey will also be available to answer all questions on the apprenticeship currently in its second year of delivery. Professor Bailey commented:

“We are proud of the development that current apprentices have achieved and the level and quality of work they deliver for their employers.
