These FreeStations are open source environmental data loggers, which will monitor noise, air, light and pollution. They are customisable, low-cost and easy to build,<span class=\"C9DxTc \"> &#8220;designed to mak<\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">e<\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">\u00a0reliable, detailed local environmental data<\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \"> more accessible in areas that may have little local financial and technical capacity for the collection of such data&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freestation.org\/\">FreeStation<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_651\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-651\" style=\"width: 2040px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-651\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/dice\/files\/2025\/09\/shared-image.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2040\" height=\"1530\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-651\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Work in progress!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>These will be tested on the University of Kent Campus, before being rolled out across East Kent on other planned projects, to investigate associations between nature restoration and these different forms of environmental pollution, as listed above.
