{"id":931,"date":"2014-12-10T14:37:52","date_gmt":"2014-12-10T14:37:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/development\/?p=931"},"modified":"2015-04-27T11:11:55","modified_gmt":"2015-04-27T10:11:55","slug":"runners-raise-6000-for-pilgrims-hospices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/development\/2014\/12\/10\/runners-raise-6000-for-pilgrims-hospices\/","title":{"rendered":"Runners raise \u00a36000 for Pilgrims Hospices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our Athletics and Cross Country team, who ran over 200 miles from our Canterbury campus to Paris, have raised \u00a36000 for Pilgrims Hospices.Runners raise \u00a36000 for Pilgrims Hospices &#8211; University of Kent<\/p>\n<p>The runners completed over 26 miles a day for eight consecutive days \u2013 the equivalent of over eight marathons in a row.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Campus2Campus video\" href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/106158307\">Watch the video of the Campus2Campus challenge.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jon Solley, the student who organised the run said, \u2018We never imagined we\u2019d raise so much, so today is truly something special. The legacy the project has left its testament to the team\u2019s hard work.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Pam Meller, Acting Fundraising Manager from Pilgrims Hospice said:<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We are so grateful to the team for choosing to support Pilgrims Hospices in this impressive Campus2Campus challenge. We realise how much planning and work must have gone into making this possible, both before and during the event, and we think Billy and the team should be really proud of themselves for this fantastic achievement.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018With the majority of Pilgrims Hospices funding coming from the local community, this huge contribution is wonderful and really will make a difference to what we do here.
