This friendly and inclusive day of sport, community and fundraising was held in support of two incredible organisations: Ping Pong Parkinson (PPP) and the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy (PCIT).

Thanks to Abdullah’s dedication and the support of the University of Kent Table Tennis Society and Canterbury Table Tennis Club, the event raised an impressive £257 which will be split equally between PPP and PCIT. We are truly grateful for this contribution which will help both charities continue their vital work in promoting exercise, community and support for people living with Parkinson’s.

The day itself was a great success – with coaching starting at 10:00am, followed by social play and a lively doubles tournament. It was heartening to see people of all ages and abilities pick up a paddle, learn new skills and enjoy the spirit of friendly competition.

This event served as a powerful reminder that movement is medicine. Exercise and social interaction can have a transformative impact on the wellbeing of people living with Parkinson’s and this event provided exactly the kind of space where that impact can begin.

Thank you to everybody involved.

Please enjoy a short video from the event.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Abdullah Kassim, a second year student at the Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS), for organising … Read more

[118123,229063
