His work reflects both the depth of his creativity and his care for others. We are delighted that this statue will stand here, at the heart of our Canterbury campus, to inspire and enrich students and staff for generations to come’.

Also in attendance was Former Director of Kent Sport, Mike Wilkins MBE, and a group Kent footballers who played with Anthony on the University team and at the many reunions that have followed. Anthony’s love of sport was almost as significant as his passion for art, and the lasting impression he has left on his former teammates and friends was special to witness.

The Bronze beautifully encapsulates Anthony’s artistic vision and captures the essence of natural beauty and human emotion. It serves as a beacon of creativity and inspiration for our staff, students, and visitors. We invite everybody to visit the sculpture, to let it inspire you just as Anthony Heywood’s life and work have inspired countless others.

Once again, we express our deepest thanks to Lily Heywood for this magnificent gift. This generosity enriches our University and ensures that Anthony Heywood’s legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

Our Alumni Reunion Weekend provided the perfect opportunity to unveil Anthony Heywood’s (History and Theory of Art, 1982) ‘Keswick’ Bronze sculpture, which has been generously … Read more

[118124,118123
