Four brave supporters of the Kent Law Campaign gathered on the roof of the Premier Inn in Canterbury at 10am on Saturday 1st November to take part in a charity abseil organised by the KM Charity Team.
Fifty abseilers took part in the event which raised £5,000 for 38 good causes including the Kent Law Campaign. The rooftop venue provided the teams with stunning views of the city of Canterbury and beyond before they abseiled back down to ground level to the applause and cheers of many spectators.
Hilary Edridge, Head of Campaigns at the University of Kent, led the team which also included Andy Wilson, Rose Noble and Blessing Olapade from the Kent Law Campaign Student Group.
The team sought support from family, friends and colleagues and the money they raised was split between the Kent Law Campaign (which received 70% of the total) and the KM Charity Team. Including Gift Aid and the University’s pound for pound match, they raised a magnificent £861 towards the Campaign.
