On Tuesday 17th June, we were honoured to welcome Dr Gerhard Florschutz, Director of Saint Raphael’s Centre, to the Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy (PCIT). His visit was an opportunity to witness first-hand the transformative work being done at PCIT and our sister centre, Neurowell, which provides specialist support for people living with brain injuries.
Saint Raphael’s Centre has been a valued supporter of our work, having generously donated £20,000 in September 2024. This initial gift helped fund vital therapy sessions and wellbeing programmes, making a significant difference to the lives of our members.
During his visit, Dr Florschutz spent time with staff, volunteers and members, hearing their stories and seeing the impact of Saint Raphael’s Centre’s support in action. From improvements in mobility and confidence to increased social connection and emotional wellbeing, the benefits of integrated therapy were clear.
Following the visit, Saint Raphael’s Centre made the decision to donate a further £50,000 to support the ongoing work of PCIT and Neurowell and we are incredibly grateful for this support. It allows us to continue offering person-centred care to people with Parkinson’s and brain injury, expanding access to therapies which improve quality of life and restore hope.
On behalf of everyone at PCIT and Neurowell, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Saint Raphael’s Centre, your support is changing lives.
