Furley Page longstanding sponsorship brings music to the heart of Kent

For more than twenty-five years, leading Kent law firm Furley Page has been sponsor of the University of Kent’s Lunchtime Concert series, helping to make live music accessible to students, staff and the wider community. Their generous sponsorship has brought world-class musicians to Canterbury, inspiring new generations of performers and enriching the region’s cultural life.

Hosted in the University’s stunning Colyer-Fergusson Hall, the Lunchtime Concerts offer audiences the chance to experience an exciting range of musical performances—free of charge—with a suggested donation supporting the continuation of the programme. From celebrated chamber works to festive carols, each performance contributes to improving wellbeing and fostering engagement with the arts.

Reflecting on the firm’s continued partnership, Jeremy Licence, Managing Partner at Furley Page, said:

“It is a privilege to support this series and the talented musicians it brings to Kent. In this, Furley Page’s 300th anniversary year, we are particularly pleased to note the firm’s long-standing sponsorship of the University of Kent Music Department’s Lunchtime Concerts. It is a testament to our commitment to our local community and to the University’s excellent programme, that we have maintained this relationship over several decades.”

Dan Harding, Head of Music Performance at the University of Kent, expressed his gratitude for the partnership:

“We are delighted to continue our successful relationship with Furley Page, whose generous support over the years has allowed us to bring exceptional musicians to the Canterbury campus, engage with both the University community and local audiences, and offer our students opportunities to develop their skills through workshops with leading professionals.”

The new concert season begins on Wednesday 5 November, featuring twentieth-century masterpieces for violin and piano performed by rising stars Elodie Chousmer-Howelles and Stella Marie Lorenz. The series continues on Wednesday 3 December with Medieval Carols presented by Ancient Music Promotions, heralding the festive season.

The series will return again in Spring 2026, once more proudly sponsored by Furley Page.

Furley Page’s enduring partnership with the University demonstrates how local businesses can make a lasting impact—enhancing cultural life, supporting student learning and strengthening community connections.
